Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) embroidered silk panel, embroidered with silk yarns and metallic gold leaf wrapped threads in couching, knotting, and satin stitch with a design of two mythical Shojo, one holding a long ladle, standing around a large wine jar, a small child dancing on the wine jar cover, a large decorative folding fan above with tassel, all surrounded by butterflies, stylized clouds, bamboo, cranes, and bamboo, framed and mounted in a lucite/plexiglas case.
