A very fine Russian icon of the Vladimir Mother of
God, early 16th century, the virgin mother
holds the child who embraces her neck cheek
to cheek, her mophorian (shawl) is wine-red
edged in gold; in seemingly good and stable
condition, with bright colors, minor paint loss
and no visible restorations
